Oh goodness. What a question! Where to start? lol Long post, so I’m putting in a page break!

Before I start, I should probably tell you a little about the world first. Although it’s a different place (different locations and such), it’s a lot like ours right now, except that it’s predominated by more than just humans! Demons in the story live peacefully among them, but tend to indulge in over-the-top lifestyles; a reason why most people avoid associating with them. There are other races, but since they are plot sensitive I can’t talk about them.

Alright, as Lani is the main character of the project, all the characters interact with her in some form or another (otherwise they’d be kinda pointless). Leolani Feng is a foreigner, traveling to another country in hopes of discovering a purpose. Not many months into her life there, she is given that purpose: protecting people from dark forces with her magic powers of wind and thunder. However, she won’t be able to fight against these forces alone for long, which is where other characters come into play. Lani is competitive, compassionate and hot-blooded, with one of her favorite pastimes being video games.

Night Valgakurem is Lani’s boyfriend and the second-most important character to the story (because *spoilerspoilers*). Although quite a bookworm, he is still a fun-loving guy and cannot go long without social interaction. He’s not entirely human, as you may have guessed. Any information seen past early 2011, *waves arms* ignore that—a lot has changed. He has magic powers of his own, but unlike Lani, they’re natural. The problem is, he doesn’t know how or why. Luckily for him, the appearance of Lani’s powers and strange monsters gets him that much closer to an answer.

Hekuma Mustaine (Heku for short) serves a much greater purpose in the story (greater than I can even begin to hint at), but I can still tell you a little about him! He is the lead guitarist/vocalist of a popular demon rock band called HAZARD (the other band members are Janis and Ozzy) and a weredemon. Unlike werewolves and were-whatever, he has more than one form that he can turn into. As far as his relationship to Lani, he’s a jerk and a womanizer (which, in turn, spurs a lot of hatred from Night).

Chogi Quinn is Lani’s best friend. In the past, she was in a close relationship with Night’s twin brother, Benjamin, who vanished some years ago and never returned… But as she kept close ties with the family, she knows them well. She manages to balance sass and kindness almost seamlessly, as well as always look out for her friends, so the least I can say is that Lani got lucky by having a friend like her!  Chogi has a great voice and is an amazing cook.

Jamine Valgakurem is Night’s younger sister. She has absurd self-discipline, giving her the ability to excel in both academics and fitness. Most of her spare time is spent training. Though, her social life suffers because of this and the fact that she intimidates a lot of people… Regardless, Lani becomes one of her good friends.

Ion Kelly is Night’s best friend. Night can quite hold his own as far as intelligence, but when it comes to help, he goes right to Ion. He’s a very down-to-earth guy, always calm and always willing to help. He hopes to be either a chemist or doctor. So far, he’s received a degree in Chemical Science and is currently attending Medical School.

Bernadetta Ferrari (Berna for short) is Ion’s girlfriend. Her dream is to become a great engineer—how great would it feel to be part of technological advancements that change the world one day! But, for now, she could stand to get through college first. Her greatest strength is experience. She has dealt with many situations and many people, so if the situation calls for it, she is not afraid to show her colors (something her friends respect her for).
